As part of the university's commitment to economic development and outreach, CCTEC hosts a variety of events to create connections between the Cornell campuses, industry members, entrepreneurs, and investors. Signature Events

Cornell Technology Venture Forum (CTVF)

  1. Each fall, CCTEC invites investors to a day long event highlighting exciting new businesses and technologies being developed at Cornell University. Cornell faculty from the Ithaca Campus and Cornell Weill Medical College are invited to present. Poster viewing breaks, lunch, and an evening cocktail reception are all opportunities for guests to form business relationships and network with one another.

Startup Boot Camp

  1. This one day event focuses on a variety of issues that should be considered when starting a technology company. Budding entrepreneurs have the opportunity to learn from experienced panelists as they share their advice during several interactive discussions. Attendees also have a chance to ask questions and receive feedback on legal considerations, business formation, acquiring funding, and perfecting the pitch. Networking between attendees and panelists takes place during lunch, a cocktail hour, and a dinner reception.

CCTEC Showcase at the E@C Celebration

  1. Each spring, CCTEC showcases new business opportunities from the Ithaca campus and from the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City during the annual Entreprenuership@Cornell Celebration event. Entrepreneurship@Cornell Celebration is a milestone annual event that brings together over 500 students, alumni, faculty and staff.

Event Series

Seminar & Social Hour Series (S&S)

  1. Building relationships on campus and beyond is important to CCTEC. In the spirit of professional networking, we host monthly seminars for MBA candidates from the Johnson School, as well as, other graduate level students with interests in business, entreprenuership and technology transfer. These events typically feature a presentation by a Cornell entrepreneur or inventor about a new business or emerging technology being developed at Cornell.

IP & Pizza Series (IP&P)

  1. CCTEC connects with students, faculty, and staff from all colleges within Cornell by hosting town-hall style meetings discussing IP issues in relevant fields of expertise. These informal gatherings typically feature short educational presentations concerning intellectual property issues and Q&A sessions on the university technology transfer process and patenting issues.

Inventors Roundtable Series

  1. Cornell researchers present their promising innovations to a small group of invited attendees. Attendees are asked to give feedback on each presentation/technology in areas such as marketing, commercialization, and finding financial resources. After the event, CCTEC licensing officers, along with the researchers, consider the advice when planning how to proceed and market each invention.
