CCTEC hosted its fifth annual Cornell Technology Venture Forum™ (CTVF) on October 20, 2011. Emerging technologies and Cornell startups will be presented and showcased throughout the full day event. Ample networking and poster viewing breaks allowed attendees to mingle and form useful business relationships. Ten Cornell inventors presented their emerging technologies including an online wizard for bird identification, evanescent wave photonic bioreactor, device for measuring water in status in plants, detecting deceptive online reviews, self-calibrating viscosity sensor, gaining insight into networks through better instrumentation, method for compensation of temperature dependence of quartz crystal oscillators, identification of mechanisms of drug action and resistance, technologies for biofuels and green chemistry, and new method for prevention and treatment of type-2 diabetes. Four Cornell startups, including NOHMs Technologies, Inc., SafetyStratus, Inc., Boa-Bag LLC, and iCareDx, pitched their businesses and products to investors and other attendees.
Posters on renewable energy, bioinformatics, cancer diagnosis, sensors, research tools, photonics, and plant varieties, filled the East Hill Office Building Atrium. Attendees and inventors discussed potential partnerships and opportunities during poster viewing breaks. Click on the titles below to view the posters and presentations.
