Cornell Technology Venture Forum™ (CTVF)

Each fall, CCTEC invites investors to a day long event highlighting exciting new businesses and technologies being developed at Cornell University. Cornell faculty from the Ithaca Campus and Weill Cornell Medical College are invited to present. Poster viewing breaks, lunch, and an evening cocktail reception are all opportunities for guests to form business relationships and network with one another.

Boot Camp

Boot Camp events focus on a variety of business issues that technology innovators, from budding entrepreneurs to operational managers, should consider when starting or running a technology business enterprise. Each Boot Camp will be theme oriented. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from experienced panelists as they share advice during interactive discussions with questions and answers. Valuable feedback on real life issues such as business formation, choosing partners, legal matters, perfecting the pitch, funding arrangements, managing on the shoestring and outsourcing etc. can be obtained. Opportunities for networking among attendees and panelists are abundant during breakfasts, coffee breaks, lunches, cocktail hours, and dinner receptions.

CCTEC New Business & Emerging Technology Showcase™

Each spring, CCTEC showcases emerging technologies and new business opportunities from the Ithaca campus, New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, and Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City during the annual Entrepreneurship@Cornell Celebration event. Entrepreneurship@Cornell Celebration is a milestone annual event that brings together over 1,000 students, alumni, faculty and staff.

Seminar & Social Hour™ Series (S&S)

Building relationships on campus and beyond is important to CCTEC. In the spirit of professional networking, we host monthly seminars for MBA candidates from the Johnson School, as well as, other graduate level students with interests in business, entrepreneurship and technology transfer. These events feature a presentation by a Cornell entrepreneur or inventor about a new business or emerging technology being developed at the university.

IP & Pizza™ Series (IP&P)

CCTEC connects with students, faculty, and staff from all colleges within Cornell by hosting town-hall style meetings discussing IP issues in relevant fields of expertise. These informal gatherings typically feature short educational presentations concerning intellectual property issues and Q&A sessions on the university technology transfer process and patenting issues.

Inventions Roundtable™ Series

Promising innovations are presented to a small group of invited attendees. Attendees are asked to give feedback on each technology in areas such as marketing, commercialization, and finding financial resources. After the event, CCTEC licensing officers, along with the researchers, consider the advice when planning how to proceed and market each invention.
